Our History


Gordy's Music was established in April of 1986 the same year as Vintage Guitar Magazine. I had been working in music stores and dealing in used guitars and amps since 1970. My wife Marcia and I started attending guitar shows in 1986 after we opened and are the founders and promoters of the Michigan Annual Guitar Show which we started in 1989. We specialize in vintage STRINGED INSTRUMENTS and used gear, parts, vintage guitar's, amplifier's, effect pedal's etc.. We ship merchandise all over the world and we are always on the lookout for special items for our customers.

We will also do consignments. If you would like us to sell your instrument(s) we can give them good exposure not only at our guitar shows but on our web sites as well. Our consignment fees vary from 10 to 30% depending on the value of the instrument. We also do some trading.

We do appraisal's on stringed instrument's besides just guitar's. Verbal estimate's are FREE! 'to a degree'.    Written appraisals are $75.00 each.   We give accurate realistic value's and we also discount the fee's if you have a large quantity of instrument's.
